Ithaca College scored in all but one inning May 23 while bringing the Keystone College baseball season to an end with a 17-2 romp in the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III Regional Final at Immaculata University.

Both Keystone losses at the event came against Ithaca.

The Giants defeated Immaculata, 7-5, then lost to Ithaca, 7-2.

After beating Immaculata again, 6-5, Keystone earned a second shot at Ithaca.

The Giants were down to their last strike against Immaculata when R.J. Gouldsbury delivered a game-winning, two-run double.

Keystone, which finished 26-20, reached the NCAA Tournament by winning its 17th straight conference title.

The Giants fell behind in the best-of-three Colonial States Athletic Conference championship series when it lost to second-seeded Wilson College, 11-2, in the opener.

Keystone recovered to post wins of 6-3 and 9-4 over Wilson, which finished the season 31-11.

Tournament MVP and CSAC Player of the Year Gouldsbury went 2-for-4 with four RBI in the deciding game. He doubled in a run in the first inning and hit a three-run homer in the second.

J.D. Barrett, who scored three times, and Julio Acosta, who scored twice, had two hits each. Adam Kelly also had two hits.

Nick Gravel threw 2 2/3 innings of one-hit relief for the save.

Abington Heights graduate Nick Termini got the win. Termini, a freshman, was 2-1 with a save and a 6.53 earned run average in 11 appearances. He walked nine and struck out nine in 20 2/3 innings.

Gouldsbury and Adam Kelly were both selected All-Region by D3baseball.com.

Gouldsbury was a second-team catcher. He led the team in home runs (13) and RBI (55).

Kelly was a third-team outfielder. He had seven homers and 41 RBI.

PRESIDENT’S CUP

The Colonial States Athletic Conference announced its final Presidents’ Cup rankings, an all-sports competition within the conference.

Keystone ranked third among men’s athletic programs, fifth overall and seventh among women’s programs.

Clarks Summit University ranked fifth among women, sixth overall and sixth among men.
