SCRANTON – Abington Heights players Will Marion and Mason Fedor put up some big numbers for the NEPA Elite boys AAU teams in their biggest successes during May.

Marion made five first-half 3-pointers on the way to 17 points when the NEPA Elite Coyle 17U boys opened the KYDA Invitational on their home court at the Riverfront Sports with a 64-54 victory over Team Final Red.

The KYDA Invitational field featured 10 players, who are ranked among the top 100 prospects in the country in their grade by ESPN.

Marion followed up his high-scoring effort with four assists in the final 12 minutes of a 65-57 victory over New York Rens United.

“He had a great first day,” coach Brian Coyle said. “He’s definitely a floor general out there. In the first game against Team Final Red, we needed him to hit 3s and he came up big.

“In the second game, we didn’t need him to hit 3s as much. We needed him to be more of a facilitator, which he was, and a floor general in getting us into our action.”

Ryan Nealon, another Abington Heights sophomore, hit two 3-pointers in the second half and three in the game against Team Final Red.

Fedor had a pair of double-doubles for the NEPA Elite Cooper 17U boys team when it made the 17U Boardwalk Division championship game by going 3-1 in The Hoop Group Jersey Shore Jam Fest.

Emily McDonald, also from Abington Heights, had a team-high 18 points for the NEPA Elite Macciocco 16U girls team in its final game at Select Events Basketball Atlantic City Showcase, a 56-43 loss to New Jersey Soldiers.
