Scott Gilbert became a frequent contributor to the Bloomsburg University baseball pitching staff as a freshman.
The lefty from Abington Heights appeared in 10 games, including making seven starts, for the Huskies in their 25-19-1 season.
Gilbert went 2-0 with a 3.79 earned run average. In 35 2/3 innings, he struck out 36 while allowing 31 hits and 16 walks.

WOMEN’S TRACK AND FIELD
Abigail Marion was the top West Chester University runner at the distances of 3,000, 5,000 and 10,000 meters at various times during her freshman season.
Marion finished third in the 5,000-meter run in 19:53.36 during the Bill Butler Invitational on West Chester’s home track.
SOFTBALL
Senior Meghan McGinley started 20 games in the outfield and made three other appearances at Mansfield University.
McGinley batted .111 with a double, a run and two RBI.
