The Lackawanna Trail boys were 5-9 and the girls were 1-13 through the first four weeks of the Lackawanna League cross country season.

Brayden Clarke has led the way for the Lions, producing the team’s season highlight Sept. 13 at Western Wayne when he finished first in a six-team cluster meet and led Lackawanna Trail to a 2-1 record in the meets it was scored on for the day.

Clarke won the race by six seconds that day in 18:09.7. The Lions defeated Forest City and Mountain View but lost to Susquehanna.

The win was one of three top-five finishes by Clarke in meets involving six teams. He was fourth at Lakeland Sept. 27 and fifth at Scranton in the league opener at Scranton Sept. 7.
