In 2019, his only season in the Milwaukee Brewers organization, Spangenberg hit 14 home runs and stole 28 bases in 32 attempts for San Antonio of the Pacific Coast League. Counting his late season time with the parent Brewers on his way to a National League playoff appearance, Spangenberg had 16 home runs and 32 stolen bases.
Spangenberg spent the next two seasons playing for the Saitama Seibu Lions in Japan, including 15 homers and 12 stolen bases in 2020.
The 31-year-old, who has moved around the infield and outfield throughout his professional career, led Abington Heights to a Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association Class 3A state title in 2009.
