Niko Williams and Gineva Reese from host Abington Heights claimed the Field Athlete of the Meet awards June 5 while helping the County teams post victories over the City in the second annual Lackawanna Track and Field Coaches Association Senior All-Star Meet.

Williams received the boys award after winning the shot put (47-2) and discus (133-6) while placing second in the javelin (153-1). He was part of Abington Heights athletes contributing 32 points, the most by any school, in the County’s 100-50 victory over the City in the boys meet.

Three other Comets won events in the boys meet.

Colin Donahoe and Nicholas Booth finished 1-2, just 31-hundredths of a second apart, beating state Class 2A medalist Gabe Pacyna from Mid Valley in the 800. Donahoe won in 2:25.97.

Alex Duffy won the 3200 run in 10:33.52 while James Reese finished first in the pole vault with 12-3.

Noe Biteau was third in the triple jump with 40-3 ¾.

Gineva Reese won the shot put (30-10½) and the discus (95-1) as the County won the girls meet, 90-54.

Peter Stanislavsky was named MVP of the boys meet while Colin Kravitz from North Pocono was named Track Athlete of the Meet.

Riverside’s Lacey Danilovitz was girls meet MVP. Susquehanna’s Tatum Norris was named Track Athlete of the Meet.
