Scranton Prep took early control of the Lackawanna Football Conference Division 1 race and has not let it go.
The Cavaliers won the only LFC Division 1 game played in August, opening the season with a shutout of a Valley View team which has won all five of its games since. They ended September with three straight wins in divisional games to remain on top of the standings and open October in position to clinch at least a tie for first place with just one more victory.
Scranton Prep ended September at 4-0 in the division and 5-1 overall. Every other LFC Division 1 team has at least one loss in the division. The Cavaliers rank second in a highly competitive seeding race for the District 2 Class 3A playoffs where Western Wayne leads at 6-0, Western Wayne and Mid Valley are also 5-1, and Carbondale and Lake-Lehman are both 4-2.
Louis Paris runs a balanced attack for the Cavaliers, hitting more than 60 percent of his passes, averaging more than 10 yards per pass attempt and ranking second to Will McPartland in rushing yards and touchdowns.
