Lackawanna Trail snapped a three-game losing streak, picked up momentum for the postseason and assured itself of a winning record by winning the last two games of the regular season.
The Lions had slipped to 10-10 before beating visiting Montrose 49-46 Feb. 11 and following that up two days later with a 52-46 win at Forest City.
Lucas Filipek hit four 3-pointers and scored 19 points against Montrose.
Jake Antolick scored seven of his 14 points when the Lions were completing a comeback during the fourth quarter.
Filipek, Antolick and Phillips hit 3-pointers in the first quarter against Forest City when the Lions took a 21-11 lead. They then secured the victory by going 9-for-14 from the line in the fourth quarter.
Phillips was 4-for-4 from the line in the fourth when he scored six of his team-high 17 points.
Antolick added 15 points in the win.
