Anna Pucilowski finished second overall among varsity girls to lead Abington Heights to second place in the Class 3A girls team standings Aug. 22 in the season-opening Lions Invitational, hosted by Moravian Academy in Bethlehem.
Pucilowski finished the 3.1 miles in 18:37 to take second out of 149 runners.
Abington Heights was second out of seven Class 3A teams behind Easton 38-64.
The Lady Comets placed five in the top 25. Calli Gilboy was 16th in 20:33 and Marley Gilboy was 18th, 10 seconds later. Morgan Kresge and Kenadi Lotz finished 24th and 25th.
The Abington Heights boys finished fourth of eight in Class 3A.
Timmy Fogley led the team, taking 17th out of 160 runners overall in 17:16.
Jack Shoemaker (30th), Nikolai Sutton (40th), Mario Marsala (46th) and William Arp (72nd) made up the rest of the Abington Heights team score.
Dylan Spatz was the top Abington Heights finisher in the Middle School boys race, taking eighth of 192. Caroline Peoples led the Abington Heights girls when she finished 12th of 193.
