Scranton Prep squeezed past Abington Heights 86-80 Jan. 29 at the University of Scranton in a meeting of two of the last three unbeaten girls swimming teams in the Lackawanna League.

The Classics (7-0) are scheduled to travel to Delaware Valley Feb. 12 to face the other team that was 7-0 through Feb. 2. First, Delaware Valley will have to face Abington Heights (6-1).

Sophia Galko led Scranton Prep’s victory by finishing first in the 100-yard backstroke and 100-yard butterfly, along with being part of a win in the 200 medley relay.

Freestyle swimmer Hadley Pallman had two individual and two relay wins for Abington Heights.

Scranton Prep won the title at the Ernie Shartle Invitational at Tunkhannock by taking first place in six of 12 events.

Abington Heights won the championship of the Classic Gold Relays Feb. 1, setting several meet records along the way.
