Abington Heights landed four players on the roster for the County team that will take on the City July 22 in the Scranton Lions Club Dream Game at John Henzes/Veterans Memorial Stadium in Peckville at 7 p.m.
The Comets selected were wide receiver/safety Gavin Anders, offensive lineman/defensive end Logan Bohn, cornerback Rocco Sarafinko and two-way end Cade Sespico.
The Dream Game features recent graduates of Lackawanna Football Conference teams. Rosters were announced this week.
Anders was the leading receiver in District 2 with 74 catches for 1,158 yards and 10 touchdowns. He was also his team’s top defensive player with 67 tackles, 17 assists, two interceptions and two forced fumbles while leading the Comets to a 9-3 record and appearance in the District 2 Class 5A championship game.
Bohn and Sespico were first and second on the team in sacks and total tackles for losses. Bohn led in sacks with 6 ½ while Sespico led in tackles for losses with 15.
Sespico also caught 12 passes for 126 yards. He made 46 total tackles and assisted on 15 more.
Bohn made 28 tackles and 16 assists, while Sarafinko had 26 tackles and 11 assists.
Carbondale’s Jeff Arthur will coach the County team, which has players from Abington Heights, Carbondale, Delaware Valley, Honesdale, Lakeland, Mid Valley, Old Forge, Valley View and Western Wayne.
Joe Giorgio from Holy Cross will coach his own players on the City team, which will also include players from Dunmore, Lackawanna Trail, Montrose, North Pocono, Scranton, Scranton Prep, Susquehanna, Wallenpaupack and West Scranton.
