Emily Dennis and Jack Shoemaker placed in multiple events when they represented Abington Heights in the LTC vs. WVC Senior All-Star Meet May 31 at Mid Valley High School.
The senior track and field all-star meet was previously held at Abington Heights, but this season, the Wyoming Valley Conference was added, and the meet moved to Mid Valley.
Abington Heights athletes were part of wins by both LTC teams.
Dennis finished second in both the high jump and triple jump along with taking third in the javelin.
Shoemaker contributed to a win in the boys 3200-meter relay and also finished third in both the 1600- and 3200-meter runs.
Elsianna Phillips was second in the girls 200-meter.
Derek Williams and Carter Plantz finished second and third in the boys shot put.
National events
Abington Heights athletes competed in a pair of national events.
Justin Lezinski finished 11 out of 32 in the middle school boys shot put with 47-2¼ at the New Balance National Championships at Franklin Field in Philadelphia.
Anthony Piccotti was 17 of 25 in the freshman boys pole vault with 12-5½.
Aliya Lucarelli placed 28 of 77 in the freshman girls 200-meter in 25.48 seconds and 32 out of 82 in the 100-meter in 12.53 seconds.
Sisters Kiana and Tayla Seid were entered in the Adidas National Championships in Greensboro, N.C., the same weekend.
Kiana Seid tied for 18 out of 31 in the National Elite girls pole vault division by clearing 10 feet.
Tayla Seid was 31 out of 44 in the middle school long jump.
