PECKVILLE – Cayd Sespico started on both sides of the ball and scored the first County touchdown July 22 in the 92nd annual Scranton Lions Club Dream Game.
Sespico was one of four Abington Heights players on the County in its 36-35 loss at Valley View’s John Henzes/Veterans Memorial Stadium.
The two-way end was joined by Gavin Anders, Rocco Sarafinko and Logan Bohn as the Comets in the game for recent graduates of Lackawanna Football Conference teams.
Sespico started at tight end and defensive end. He gave the County a 7-6 lead with 26 seconds left in the first quarter by capping the team’s first drive of the game with a 2-yard reception from Lakeland’s David Naniewicz.
Sarafinko, a cornerback, joined Sespico in the defensive starting lineup. Sarafinko made four tackles and broke up two passes. Sespico made two tackles and assisted on another.
Anders started as a receiver and also played some on defense. He caught a 31-yard pass, the team’s second-longest play of the night, in the first County drive to move the team into City territory on the way to Sespico’s touchdown. He also made a tackle.
Bohn was a backup lineman.
The County team was coached by Carbondale’s Jeff Arthur. The team included players from Abington Heights, Carbondale, Delaware Valley, Honesdale, Lakeland, Mid Valley, Old Forge, Riverside, Valley View and Western Wayne.
