Group Bike Rides on the Trail, Sept. 30 at 1 p.m., riders should meet in the parking lot of the Blakely Borough Recreational Complex, on the corner of Keystone Avenue and River Street, in Peckville. The group will ride north along the trail and then loop back to their starting point. On Oct. 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 at 1 p.m., riders should meet at the trailhead on Delaware Street in Jermyn. The group will ride to Carbondale and back. This route includes riding on streets. No fee to participate, but all riders must bring their own bicycle. All skill levels welcome.

2nd annual Hospice of the Sacred Heart Remembrance Walk, Sept. 30 at McDade Park, Scranton. Registration 9 a.m., walk begins at 10 a.m. The pet friendly one-mile walk is appropriate for all levels of fitness. Cost: $25 – includes a pre-walk snack, a light lunch, and T-shirt with a customizable pin-on bib. Children under 12 years of age can walk for free.
