Abington Gators fall to Scranton Sea Knights in youth swim meets

SCRANTON — The Scranton Sea Knights defeated the Abington Gators, 165-87, in the boys meet and 186.5-67.5 in the girls meet during Northeastern Pennsylvania Age Group Swim League action Jan. 20.

In the boys meet for Abington, Steven Dong placed first in the 14U 200 freestyle, Jason Casper placed first in the 10U individual medley, Brody Goldberg was second in the 8U 25 freestyle, Erin Moran placed second in the 12U 50 freestyle, Geoffrey Stanton finished first in the 10U 100 freestyle, Geoff Brock was second in the 12U 50 breaststroke, Kevin Guditus placed second in the 14U 100 breaststroke, the 14U 200 medley relay team (Dong, Nate Steenback, Hudson Brown and Guditus) placed second, and the 10U medley relay team (Ryan Walsh, Stanton, Judah Donnelly, Casper) finished first.

In the girls meet for Abington, Hadley Pallman placed second in the 8U 25 freestyle, Gianna Vachino finished first in the 10U 50 freestyle, Abby Brock was second in the 14U 50 freestyle, Katie Giermanski placed second in the 8U 25 backstroke, Audra Wimmer finished first in the 10U 50 backstroke, the 12U 200 medley relay team (Lilly Hufford, Kailey Rillstone, Maisy Earl, Giavanna Matrone) was second, and the 8U 100 freestyle relay team (Giermanski, Natalia Matrone, Lauren Stanton, Pallman) placed first.
