Abington Heights tops Central Columbia in age-group swim meet

BLOOMSBURG — The Abington Gators earned wins over the Central Columbia Blue Jays during a Northeastern Pennsylvania Age Group Swim League meet Feb. 3.

The boys won, 161-66, and the girls earned a 133-110 victory.

During the boys meet, Brody Goldberg placed first in the 8U 25 freestyle and 25 butterfly, Jason Casper finished first in the 10U 50 and 100 freestyle, Steven Dong was first in the 14U 50 freestyle and 200 individual medley, Kevin Guditus placed first in the 14U 100 breaststroke and 200 freestyle, Geoffrey Stanton finished first in the 10U 50 breaststroke and 100 individual medley, Ryan Walsh was first in the 10U 50 butterfly and 50 backstroke, Thomas Scott placed first in the 14U 100 butterfly, Anthony Hanyon finished first in the 8U 50 freestyle, Nathan Steenback was first in the 14U 100 freestyle, and Adrian Azar placed first in the 8U 25 breaststroke and 25 backstroke. The 14U 200 medley (Hudson Brown, Guditus, Scott, Steenback), the 10U 200 medley (Stanton, Walsh, Casper, Rodman Azar), 8U 100 medley relay (Adrian Azar, Alexander Lin, Goldberg, Hanyon), 8U 100 freestyle (Wade Nelson, Goldberg, Adrian Azar, Hanyon), 10U 200 freestyle (Derek Williams, Stanton, Walsh, Casper), 12U 200 freestyle (Erin Moran, Andrew LaQuintano, Geoff Brock, Ethan Scotch) and 14U 200 freestyle relay (Brown, Guditus, Steenback, Scott) teams each placed first.

During the girls meet, Chloe Dong placed first in the 10U 50 butterfly, Katie Giermanski finished first in the 8U 25 backstroke, Miley Domski was first in the 10U 50 backstroke, Elizabeth Keisling placed first in the 14U 100 backstroke, Abby Brock finished first in the 14U 100 breaststroke and 200 individual medley, Calli Gilboy was first in the 8U 25 breaststroke, and Gianna Vachino placed first in the 10U 50 breaststroke. The 14U 200 medley (Amelia Campbell, Brock, Domenica Scott, Makenna Ratchford), 10U 200 medley (Audra Wimmer, Vachino, Sydney Moyle, Catalina Matthies), 8U 100 medley (Giermanski, Anna Flynn, Hadley Pallman, Lauren Stanton), 8U 100 freestyle (Giermanski, Pallman, Ellie Brown, Stanton), 10U 200 freestyle (Matthies, Domski, Wimmer, Vachino) and 12U 200 freestyle (Lilly Hufford, Allie Pettinato, Maisy Earl, Haley Clinebell) relay teams each placed first.
