Abington Gators split youth swim meet with Danville Dolphins

The Abington Gators boys team defeated Danville, 154-73, but the Gators girls team lost to the Dolphins, 151-94, in a Northeastern Pennsylvania Age Group Swim League meet Feb. 10.

In the boys meet, Jackson Wentz placed first in the 12U 200 freestyle, Steven Dong finished first in the 14U 100 and 200 freestyle, Eric Moran was first in the 12U 100 individual medley, Nathan Steenback placed first in the 14U 200 individual medley, Brody Goldberg finished first in the 8U 25 freestyle, Ryan Walsh was first in the 10U 50 freestyle, Kevin Guditus placed first in the 14U 50 freestyle and 100 breaststroke, Andrew LaQuintano finished first in the 12U 50 butterfly, Thomas Scott was first in the 14U 100 butterfly, Derek Williams placed first in the 10U 50 backstroke, Hudson Brown finished first in the 14U 100 backstroke, Jason Casper was first in the 10U 50 breaststroke, and Geoff Brock placed first in the 12U 50 breaststroke. The Gators 14U 200 medley (Dong, Steenback, Brown, Guditus), 12U 200 medley (Saye Takehara, Brock, Wentz, Moran), 10U 200 medley (Ryan Walsh, Geoffrey Stanton, Casper, Rodman Azar), 10U 200 freestyle (Stanton, Williams, Ryan Walsh, Casper), 12U 200 freestyle (Brock, Takehara, Ethan Scotch, Moran) and 14U 200 freestyle (Guditus, Steenback, Jack Walsh, Dong) relay teams also each placed first.

In the girls meet, Domenica Scott placed first in the 14U 200 freestyle, Kailey Rillstone finished first in the 12U 100 individual medley, Abby Brock was first in the 14U 50 freestyle and 100 breaststroke, Haley Clinebell placed first in the 12U 50 freestyle and Amelia Campbell finished first in the 100 backstroke. The Gators 14U 200 medley (Campbell, Brock, Scott, Leah Ludwikowski), 12U 200 medley (Lilly Hufford, Rillstone, Maisy Earl, Giavanna Matrone) and 14U 200 freestyle relay (Scott, Makenna Ratchford, Campbell, Brock) relay teams also each placed first.
