Abington Heights boys basketball team recognized during Night of Champions

S. ABINGTON TWP. — The Abington Heights boys basketball team capped a historic season with a 67-55 over Mars Area High School in the PIAA Class 5A title game March 27 and was recognized for its accomplishment during a “Night of Champions” April 4 in the high school gymnasium. The Comets claimed the first basketball state title in school history. The team also won a seventh consecutive District 2 championship. Senior guard Jackson Danzig and junior forward George Tinsley were presented with basketballs during to ceremony as both scored the 1,000th point of their careers during the season.
