Waverly Waddle 5K Walk/Run scheduled for May 12

The Waverly Community House will hold its annual Waverly Waddle 5K Run/Walk, a Mother’s Day race to honor mothers and caregivers on Saturday, May 12.

Official registration includes timing by Scranton Running Company utilizing ChronoTrack B-Tag System, a race platform that provides real-time mobile results and athlete video finishes. T-shirts will be provided to the first 100 registered participants.

Check-in is from 8 to 8:45 a.m. on the back lawn of the Waverly Community House and the race will begin at 9 a.m.

For those who register by Thursday, May 10, the fees are $20 for adults and $12 for participants 12 years old and under. On race day, registration fees are $25 for adults and $15 for participants 12 years old and under. A family rate (three or more participants) is available for $35 (advance registration) or $40 on race day. All proceeds benefit recreation programs at the Waverly Community House.

A Junior Waddle for children 10 years old and under will take place immediately following The Waddle. There is no registration fee for the Junior Waddle and all participants will receive an award.

Medals will be given to the first, second and third-place runners in the following age groups: 50+, 30-49, 16-29 and 15 and under. Gift cards from the National Running Center will be presented to the first overall male and female runners and medals will be awarded to the first overall male and female walkers.
