The Abington Heights junior high softball team suffered its second loss of the season, 10-9, in a hard-fought game to Dunmore April 24. The Lady Comets battled back from a 7-0 deficit, led by home runs hit by Bryn Stiles and Megan Heard. Riley Dempsey tripled and knocked in two runs, and Avery Fiorillo and Lauryn Notari chipped in with two hits each. Stiles also had a double and finished with three RBI’s. The defense was led by Heard, Margarette Phillips and Dempsey. Fiorillo took the loss on the mound.

Abington Heights defeated Valley View, 13-3, May 2. The team’s 13-hit offensive attack was led by triples by Riley Dempsey and Lauryn Notari. Bunts by Bryn Stiles and Margarette Phillips forced two errors to keep the Lady Comets rally alive in the second inning. Brynn Hughes, Avery Fiorillo, Tawni Coronel, and Notari had two hits each. Ava Stafursky chipped in with a double. The Lady Comets defense was led by Dempsey and Stiles, who made two diving catches in right field. Grace Lorah tossed a four hitter and struck out six Lady Cougars to pick up the win.

Abington Heights defeated Northeast Intermediate School, 11-0, May 5. Triples by Colleen Cole, Tawni Coronel and Bryn Hughes led the 14-hit assault by the Lady Comets. Kayla Clark hit a home run to end the game in fifth inning by the 10-run rule. Megan Heard chipped in with three hits while Coronel and Hughes had two hits each. The Lady Comets defense was led by Heard, Paige Sandy and Margarette Phillips. Avery Fiorillo and Grace Lorah combined to toss a one hitter with six strikeouts.
