Dalton and Bodie LaCoe, who reside in Ransom Township. won world championships in their respective divisions and also each set a world record during the International Powerlifting Federation 6=Sixth World Men’s Classic Championships in Calgary, Canada.

Bodie, 16, placed first in the 116-pound sub-junior division by lifting a total of 928 pounds. He set a world record in his division with a deadlift of 443 pounds. He squatted 314 pounds and benched 170 pounds.

Dalton, 22, placed first in the 116-pound junior division by lifting a total of 1,232 pounds. He squatted 374 pounds, benched 259 pounds and deadlifted 598 pounds, a world record in his current weight class as well as the 130-pound open men’s division.
