Abington National defeated Pittston Area, 6-0, to win the Section 5 Junior League Baseball Tournament July 21 at Hilldale Baseball Park in Plains.
Gavin Ross led Abington with two singles. Noah O’Malley, Dominic Selvenis, Michael Stanton, Brodie Robertson and Camden Vaughn each had a single. Andrew Albright was the winning pitcher and Stanton earned the save.
Abington will now travel toward Pittsburgh to Lakeview Knothole Junior League for the Pennsylvania State Tournament. Abington was scheduled to begin play at 11 a.m. July 25 against the Section 2 Champion. This will be a double elimination tournament, with the champion advancing to the U.S. Eastern Finals in Freehold, New Jersey.

Winning pitcher Andrew Albright, who combined with Noah O’Malley for a no-hitter, struck out four batters and also had four singles at the plate. O’Malley struck out two and had a double. The pair combined to walk five batters.
Brodie Robertson and Gavin LaCoe each had two singles and a double for Abington.
