Spring high school teams in baseball, softball, boys and girls track and field, boys and girls lacrosse, boys tennis and boys volleyball all began official practices around Pennsylvania March 2.
Teams were allowed to begin scrimmages with other schools Saturday.
Boys tennis teams were free to begin non-league matches Monday, but all other sports must wait until March 20 to begin regular-season competition, according to Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association rules.
The Lackawanna League will begin boys tennis March 23, baseball and softball March 30, boys and girls track and field March 31 and boys volleyball April 7.
Abington Heights teams compete in the Wyoming Valley Conference in lacrosse where the girls league starts March 28 and the boys begin March 30.
