SCRANTON — With the help of Miller Flooring Company in West Chester, Lackawanna College Athletics has completed the redesign of the Student Union gymnasium court, which will be unveiled at the home women’s volleyball game at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 4 versus Harrisburg Area Community College.

According to Joya Whittington, Lackawanna College athletic director and head women’s basketball coach, the redesign highlights the college’s ongoing commitment to providing an innovative education as well as nationally recognized athletic programs.

The floor design shows off one of Lackawanna’s new athletics logos on center court, which was released earlier this month. Attendees at the game and future events will also see an artistic silhouetted skyline on the playing surface representing iconic Scranton buildings. On the floor from the Vine Street entrance to the exits on Moir Court, Falcons fans will see profiles of the Scranton Electric Building, Scranton City Hall, Lackawanna’s Angeli Hall (the former Scranton Central High School), the Lackawanna County Courthouse, and the Scranton Times Building and radio tower.
