J.C. Show saw his college career come to an end when the Binghamton men’s basketball team was beaten 84-54 by No. 1 seed Vermont in the American East Conference semifinals on March 12 in Burlington, Vt.

Show, a 6-foot-3, 205-pound graduate student from Clarks Summit and an Abington Heights graduate, had eight points, three steals and two rebounds in the game. He scored 19 points when the Bearcats turned back No. 2 Stony Brook in the opening round of the tourney on March 9 in Stony Brook, N.Y.

Show started all 33 games for Binghamton, which finished 10-23 on the season. He averaged 11.4 points a game and was 129-for-329 from the field (39.2 percent), 86-for-219 from 3-point range (39.3) and 32-for-38 from the free throw line (84.2 percent). He had a season-high 30 points with a school record 10 3-pointers on 14 attempts in an 83-60 victory over Maine on March 2 in Orono, Me. Show also averaged 3.5 rebounds a game with 37 assists and 33 steals.

In his three seasons with the Bearcats, Show played in 71 games with 70 starts and scored 915 points (12.9). He connected on 307 of 782 shots from the field (39.3 percent), was 179 out of 481 3-point attempts (37.2 percent) and was 122 of 143 from the free throw line (85.3) for a total of 915 points. He also finished with 260 rebounds, 113 assists and 71 steals.

Show played at Bucknell as a freshman and scored 236 points in 34 games, giving him 1,151 points for his college career.

Mary Lundin (Scranton Prep)

The Hamilton College senior from Clarks Summit wrapped up her indoor track career by finishing 13th in the 800 meter run to earn second-team All-American honors at the NCAA Division III Championships March 8-9 at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center in Boston, Mass. It was Lundin’s first trip to the NCAAs and she posted a time of 2:17.11, which was 3.57 seconds short of qualifying for the finals. She earned the berth when she posted a personal best time of 2:14.93 at the BU Last Chance Qualifier on Feb. 24 in Boston. The time was just two-tenths of a second off the team record.

Eric Mahoney (Abington Heights)

The 5-foot-9 junior kicked off the spring season with the Jefferson men’s golf team by shooting a round of 80 to earn medalist honors as the Rams turned back USciences 354-365 on March 19 in Lafayette Hill. Mahoney is averaging 81.2 for 10 rounds, including the fall schedule, playing every match for Jefferson. His best round was a 78 in the fall which led the Rams when they finished third behind Chestnut Hill and Cabrini on Sept. 5 in Lafayette Hill.

Allie Decker (Lackawanna Trail)

The freshman right-hander has a 5-3 record with a save and a 2.80 earned run average for the Alvernia softball team, the Golden Wolves 10-7 overall and 2-0 in MAC Commonwealth play. Decker’s latest victory came on March 23 when she pitched a seven-inning 5-2 complete game in a league game over Lebanon Valley in Annville. She gave up seven hits and two runs, one earned, with no walks and a strikeout. On the season, she Decker has worked 40 innings and given up 53 hits and 26 runs, 16 earned, with 10 walks and 15 strikeouts.

Meghan McGinley (Abington Heights)

The 5-foot-8 freshman right-hander has started two games for the Mansfield softball team. She has a 1-1 record with a 1.40 earned run average. McGinley opened her college career with the Mountaineers by pitching four innings and getting the win in a 16-0 victory over Penn State Schuylkill on March 4 in Myrtle Beach, SC. She picked up the loss when she went six innings in a 5-2 loss to West Virginia Tech on March 7, also in Myrtle Beach. In 10 innings, she’s given up eight hits and two runs, both earned, with a walk and six strikeouts.

Tarquin McGurrin (Scranton Prep)

The sophomore is playing No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles for the Scranton men’s tennis team. He was 4-0 in both during the fall season and is 2-4 in singles and 3-3 in doubles during the spring season after the Royals turned back Pratt Institute 9-0 in a non-league match last Sunday in Brooklyn, N.Y. McGurrin has a career record of 17-9 (11-6 at No. 1 and 6-3 at No. 2) in singles and is 17-8 all in No. 1 doubles with senior Alexander Ochalski of Hopewell, N.J.

Colin McCreary (Abington Heights)

The 6-foot-1, 200-pound sophomore started both games in left field as the Monmouth baseball team defeated Wagner 6-2 and was beaten 10-2 by Seton Hall last Sunday in West Long Branch, N.J. McCreary had a hit in four trips against Wagner and had a single and a walk against Seton Hall. On the season, he’s played in 11 games with nine starts and is batting .263 (10-for-38) with two doubles, three runs batted in and three runs scored, the Hawks 7-13-1 after Sunday’s games.

Luke Fayocavitz (Abington Heights)

The 5-foot-8, 155-pound sophomore finished tied for 31st place out of 105 entrants to help the York men’s golf team finish eighth out of 15 colleges at the Adidas Intercollegiate on March 11-12 in Dataw Island, S.C. He had rounds of 76, 76 and 78 for a 230 total. That was an improvement over his first spring match with the Spartans when he posted rounds of 82 and 85 for a 165 total to finish tied for 76th at The Club at Savannah Harbor Tournament on March 4-5 in Savannah, Ga. York finished 15th out of 18 teams.
