Cory Spangenberg went 3-for-4 with a run scored for the San Antonio Mission April 16 during an 8-7 loss to the host Memphis Redbirds in a Pacific Coast League game.

Spangenberg played left field and batted fifth in the game. He has shown off his defensive versatility with the top farm team of the Milwaukee Brewers, playing left field five times and appearing at each of the four infield positions at least twice.

The 2009 Abington Heights graduate had his best offensive game in what has otherwise been a tough start at the plate. He is hitting .191 with two doubles, six runs and two RBI in 15 games.

Spangenberg has struck out at least once in eight straight games and has fanned a total of 19 times.

The former San Diego Padres is in his first season with the Milwaukee organization.
