Welcome May! We begin this month feeling grateful for the Dalton Community support for our Spring Book and Bake sale last month.
Our Book and Bake sale was a huge success and Dalton Community Library wants to thank everyone who donated books, helped with preparation and clean-up and those who attended. A special thank you to Beta Bread and McGrath’s Pub for their donations. It is through everyone’s support that we continue to offer special programs and new materials that make our library unique. We have had great participation with the Kids’ Time activities this Spring. The program has been going for nearly 8 weeks.
Our program on sign language and Chinese has been well attended by children and their parents. Stay tuned for special Kids programs in May. Summer reading will also be starting sometime in mid-June with programs for children and adults. Watch our Dalton Facebook page as well as the Web Calendar for Dalton Community Library.
Our Saturday Spotlight this month will be held on May 21 from 10:30 to noon. This month’s choice for reading material will be “We are Displaced: My Journey and Refugee Stories from Around the World” by Nobel Laureate Malala Yousafzai. Please feel free to join us!
Stay tuned for next month’s column as Summer Activities are being planned. We also want to remember Memorial Day. A special remembrance for those who died in active military service. Enjoy the holiday and be safe!
