Vivian Bearing, Ph.D., an esteemed scholar of the 17th century poetry, uses her command and love of language to dramatize her experiences as an inpatient receiving experimental chemotherapy. As she looks back at her accomplished life, she rediscovers the humor and wit necessary in confronting the looming battle before her: the battle between irony and fate, kindness and research, between life and death.

Cast members include Patti Purcell as Vivian Bearing, with Darla Germeroth, Kelly Ann Walsh, Warren Cox, Christopher Alu, Nunzio Caccamo, Celine Carlier, Jacob Conrad, Amanda VonBuskirk, and Susan Parrick.

Cathy Rist Strauch and Jeff Ginsberg are producers.

Purcell’s dedication to Actors Circle spans years to include not only performing and directing, but also serving as past president and former board member. She currently serves as an activities assistant at the Pines Senior Living, Clarks Summit. She also performs with the “Young at Heart Singers” at senior living and rehabilitation facilities.
