JESSUP — Zoning will be the focus of a three-part workshop for area planning, municipal and legal professionals slated to begin on March 28 at the Lackawanna County 911 Center For Public Safety in Jessup.
This Pennsylvania Municipal Planning Education Institute series is being sponsored by the Northeast Section of the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Planning Association and the Lackawanna County Regional Planning Commission.
The sessions will be held from 6 t0 9:30 p.m. on March 28 and April 4.
The zoning course is open to planning commission members, elected officials, zoning hearing board members, zoning officers and administrators, solicitors, registered landscape architects and attorneys.
Peter Wulfhorst and Carson Helfrich from the Pennsylvania Municipal Planning Education Institute will be the guest speakers for the series.
Workshop topics include: “police power” and comprehensive plans, basic and advanced zoning techniques involving planned residential and traditional neighborhood development regulations, mapping problems, special zoning issues, ordinance reviews, and the municipal planning code authority for zoning.
This course may be taken for continuing education credit from the State Board of Landscape Architects, Pennsylvania Continuing Legal Education Board and the State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists. Additional fees are required for continuing education credits.
