Historic Tunkhannock Walking Tours, 5 p.m. Thursdays, July 14, 21 and 28. The two-mile walk through the neighborhoods and bustling downtown of the Tunkhannock Historic District will take about an hour and a half. ServSafe certification course, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. July 20, in the Fireplace Lounge, Hibbard Campus Center at Keystone College. The training will cover topics involving food-borne illnesses and health risks that workers in commercial food service establishments must learn. Participants are expected to review the ServSafe textbook for a minimum of 7.5 hours prior to the scheduled course. Prior to the 7:05 p.m. game where the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders will take on the Leigh Valley Iron Pigs, the Little Sisters will be available at the plaza entrance of the stadium to talk with visitors and provide a pre-game, on-field interview about Holy Family Residence and their mission of serving the elderly poor throughout the world. Not One More Wyoming County’s addiction and overdose awareness rally, 5 p.m. Aug. 11 on Courthouse Square in Tunkhannock. Not One More is a group of concerned citizens and Wyoming County agencies who have joined with the Wyoming County Commissioners to raise awareness and seek solutions to the addiction and overdose crisis in the community. Students in second through third grade will learn how algorithms apply to everyday life and how they can be used in programming. The children’s program will run from 6 to 8:30 pm. A free movie will be offered for parents who wish to stay during the duration of the event. Wonderful World of Water Camp, Aug. 1 through 3 at the Valley Community Library, Peckville. The camp is offered in partnership with the Lackawanna River Conservation Association, free of charge to children of Pennsylvania American Water customers. It provides an opportunity for area children to enjoy outdoor fun while learning about water. Day campers, ages 7 through 11, will explore watershed basics, learn how human activity on the land affects the quality of water in rivers and streams, and discover solutions to water pollution.
