Sunday participates in Day of Service
SCRANTON — Adam Sunday, of Clarks Summit, was among the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine (GCSOM) students leading a Day of Service in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The students planned and participated in events for Scranton-area children and youth at Friends of the Poor and Boys and Girls Club. Events included teaching participants the basics of CPR, blood pressure, heart rate and temperature in order to expose them to health indicators in minority populations. The children also learned about Dr. King and created posters regarding their dreams for the future.

READING — Allison Decker, of Dalton, volunteered in the City of Reading through Alvernia University’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service, on Jan. 20. A graduate of Lackawanna Trail High School, Decker is studying Nursing at Alvernia.

DURHAM, NH — Danielle Heine, of Waverly, has been named to the dean’s list at the University of New Hampshire for earning High Honors for the fall 2019 semester. Heine is majoring in English/Law School 3+3 BA.

SELINSGROVE — Brianna Grey, of Tunkhannock, and Steven McKnight, of South Abington Township, have been named to the dean’s list at Susquehanna University for the fall 2019 semester. Grey, a graduate of Tunkhannock High School, is an Early Childhood Educ (preK-4) (BS) major of the Class of 2020. McKnight, a graduate of Commonwealth Connections Academy High School, is a Theatre Studies Emphasis (BA) major of the Class of 2020.

EAST STROUDSBURG — Cassandra Ksiazek, of South Abington Township, and Jacob Spindler, of Clarks Summit, have been named to the dean’s list at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania (ESU) for the fall 2019 semester. Ksiazek is an Early Childhood Education (PreK-4) major and Spindler is a History major.
