Abington Heights, Lackawanna Trail and Scranton Prep all lived up to their status as top seeds by opening the playoffs with comfortable victories.

Lackawanna Trail moved into the District 2-11 Class A Subregional final at home against Tri-Valley Nov. 8.
Scranton Prep hosts Mid Valley in a District 2 Class 3A semifinal the same night.
Abington Heights will host Delaware Valley at Comets Stadium Nov. 9 at 1 p.m. for the District 2 Class 5A title.
Lackawanna Trail is on a nine-game winning streak; Scranton Prep has won eight straight; and Abington Heights has won four in a row, including three shutouts.
Abington Heights 35, Wyoming Valley West 0
Jayden Anglin scored two touchdowns and Nick Bradley passed for three Nov. 1 when host Abington Heights rolled over winless Wyoming Valley West in a semifinal.
8 Anglin ran 11 yards for a first-quarter score and highlighted the defensive effort with a 52-yard interception return to complete the scoring.
The Comets built a 28-0 halftime lead on Bradley’s touchdown passes, all of which came in the last 6½ minutes of the second quarter.
Bradley found Shaun Theodore for 4 yards, Shane Brower for 12 and Gavin Anders for 2. Those three had all the receptions as Bradley went 11-for-19 for 174 yards.
Lackawanna Trail 47, Pottsville Nativity BVM 20
Isaac Ryon and Demietrius Douglas led a 382-yard ground game and Max Kimmel turned his latest interception into 55-yard touchdown to lead Lackawanna Trail through the subregional semifinal against visiting Nativity.
Douglas and Ryon each ran for first-quarter touchdowns, then Kimmel’s pick six made it 21-0 early in the second quarter. The interception was the ninth of the season for Kimmel and the third that he returned for a touchdown.
Ryon carried 12 times for 179 yards and three touchdowns, including a 75-yarder in the third quarter after Douglas broke a 73-yarder. Douglas had 111 yards on seven carries.
Tim Richmond added 52 yards and a touchdown on three carries.
Scranton Prep 42, Tunkhannock 0
Brady Holmes returned an interception 62 yards for a touchdown as part of a 28-point first quarter and Scranton Prep did all of its scoring in the first half of a quarterfinal rout of Tunkhannock.
The Cavaliers scored in three Will McPartland carries to open the game.
Jack Doughton recovered a fumble on the first Tunkhannock offensive play and Scranton Prep again scored in three plays, this time on a Treyvon Dickey run.
Anthony Prince scored the two second-quarter touchdowns that ensured the entire second half would be played under the Mercy Rule.
