DALTON — During March’s Council meeting, councilman Brian Malamud said the grants committee was awarded $82,894 from the WRPP (Watershed Restoration and Protection Program) for renovations of Streamside Park.

“It’s going to hopefully bring back the ability to have the fishing derby,” he said.

Malamud said that he spoke with DCNR (Department of Conservation and Natural Resources) to discuss funds for the project.

In other business, Council voted to submit an expense for reimbursement for four hours of work that Dalton Sewer Authority did to put in for additional backup information. There is a remaining balance of $5,060.

Also, Council voted to approve three resolutions:

• Resolution 1 of 2025, which appoints Timothy Ronchi as the Dalton Borough representative to the Lackawanna County Hazard Mitigation Council and further appointing council person Aaron Chisholm as the alternate Dalton Borough representative to the Lackawanna County Hazard Mitigation Council

• Resolution 2 of 2025, which adopts and approves an information technology resources policy as recommended by the Dalton Council website committee

• Resolution 3 of 2025, which waives the police pension fund member contributions for the calendar year of 2025
