Abington Heights is already assured of its winningest season in girls lacrosse.

The Comets are second only to Crestwood in both the Wyoming Valley Conference and the race for the top seed in the District 2 Class 2A playoffs with an 11-1 overall record.

Isabella Caporuscio dominated, scoring 11 goals and assisting on three others April 15 when Crestwood handed host Abington Heights its only loss, 17-5.

Abington Heights has recovered to win four straight since the first-place battle with Crestwood, including the last three games of April by at least 13 goals each.

Caly Yankow has led the offense, which averages more than 14 goals per game. Yankow averages more than four goals, which allowed her to surpass 100 goals for her career before the midway point in her junior season. She reached the milestone with four goals at Pittston Area in a 20-6 romp April 13.
