Scranton Prep lived up to the expectations of a state finalist team with its entire starting lineup back when it rolled through a demanding December schedule by winning all seven games by double-figures margins.

The Classics (8-0 overall) won their only Lackawanna League Division 1 game 88-24 over Delaware Valley Dec. 18, captured the Lynett Memorial Tournament title, beat teams from the Lehigh Valley and suburban Philadelphia and went 3-0 against out-of-state opponents in special events.

The last two of the out-of-state victories were Dec. 21 and 22 in New Jersey at the She Got Game Classic – 49-31 over Pearl River (N.Y.) and 58-44 over Immaculate Heart Academy (N.J.).

Jenna Hillebrand scored 27 points, tying Maya Jenkins’ school record of seven 3-pointers in a game against Immaculate Heart.

Hillebrand leads the team with more than 15 points per game and with three 3-pointers per game. Bella Dennebaum and Jenkins join her in averaging in double figures in points.

Claire McGrath and Ashlynn Moore are the other returnees in the all-senior starting lineup.

The Classics are averaging 63.4 points per game and allowing 38.4 on the season. They joined division rival Valley View and Hazleton Area as the only unbeaten girls teams in District 2 heading into the New Year.
