Jacob Brim, Jordan Edwards, Nate Rolka and Cody Moyle took Lackawanna Trail to its first state Class A football championship game appearance.

They will get one last game together Wednesday night as City teammates in the 85th annual Dream Game.

Brim will be in the offensive starting lineup at guard while Edwards will start on defense as free safety when the City takes on the County in the annual Scranton Lions Club-sponsored game for recent graduates of Lackawanna Football Conference teams.

Although he will not start, coach Kyle Cook from Susquehanna said Rolka will “play about half the game” at quarterback.

“Moyle will be working in at tailback,” Cook said.

Brim was one of the blockers for a Lackawanna Trail ground game that averaged 7.3 yards per carry and 251.5 per game. With that blocking, Ray Melnikoff, Moyle, Jeffrey Resto and Rolka all ran for at least 663 yards.

Donny Blaine from North Pocono will start at quarterback for the City.

“We’re running my option offense,” Cook said. “Nate’s done really well with it. It’s not the same thing as (Lackawanna Trail’s) wing-T, but has some similarities.”

Rolka threw for 780 yards and seven touchdowns as a senior, hitting 46 percent of his passes. He ran for 663 yards and eight touchdowns.

This will be the second all-star game of the summer for Rolka. The University of Delaware commit as a baseball pitcher struck out the final six batters in a win for the Lackawanna League in the Field of Dreams Small School baseball game.

Moyle was the leading scorer on the District 2 champions and state finalist. He averaged 8.4 yards per carry while running for 822 yards and 16 of his 17 touchdowns.

The City features players from Lackawanna Trail, Susquehanna, North Pocono, Dunmore, Holy Cross, Scranton, Scranton Prep, Wallenpaupack and West Scranton.

Abington Heights has two players on the County team, which will be coached by Mike Jurkowski from Honesdale.

Noah Braid is a fullback/linebacker and Chris Callahan is a two-way lineman.

The County draws its roster from Abington Heights, Honesdale, Carbondale, Delaware Valley, Lakeland, Old Forge, Riverside, Valley View, Wallenpaupack and Western Wayne.

The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. kickoff at John Henzes/Veterans Memorial Stadium, Valley View’s home field in Peckville.
