Evan Maxwell scored 20 points Feb. 5 to help Spisska Nova Ves win consecutive Slovakia Extraliga games for the first time since November with a 102-95 overtime victory over Zilina.

The 6-foot-10 rookie center from Abington Heights and Indiana Wesleyan University went 8-for-12 from the floor. He made his only 3-point shot and also grabbed five rebounds.

Spisska Nova Ves has a break in its schedule until resuming games Feb. 29. It is 7-18 and tied for last in the nine-team league.

On the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I level, George Tinsley had his fifth double-double of the Binghamton University season Saturday during an 82-75 America East Conference loss to the University of Maine Saturday.

Tinsley had 16 points and 10 rebounds. He made four 3-point shots and had five of his rebounds on the offensive end.

Binghamton has dropped four straight to slip to 2-8 in the conference and 8-15 overall.

Tinsley had 13 points and eight rebounds Feb. 5 in a 62-49 loss at the University of Albany.

The 6-foot-6 freshman forward from Abington Heights is averaging 16.2 points over the past five games. On the season, he is averaging 11.7 points and 7.9 rebounds.
