It’s that time of year again. Days are getting longer. The weather is getting somewhat warmer. Leaves are growing back on trees. Plants and flowers will soon be in bloom. Best of all, Easter is around the corner! The Abington area is gearing up for this springtime holiday with many upcoming events.

Interact Club Bunny Breakfast

The Abington Heights Interact Club will have its 4th annual Bunny Breakfast at Abington Heights High School from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 5.

The dedicated student volunteers will serve a breakfast of dollar pancakes, home fries, sausage links, bacon and scrambled eggs. It will be catered by the Glenburn Grill and Bakery.

The club also prepared bunny-themed crafts for children of all ages as well as simple games for children to enjoy. Games include pin the tail on the bunny and a fun paper bag bunny craft. Kids can also get their face painted with many spring and bunny-themed designs.

“We have been planning and preparing for this event since early fall,” said Carly Regan, the club’s vice president. “From coordinating caterers, preparing crafts, to setting up fun activities and games, we have been working hard to make this a successful and exciting event!”

There will also be raffle baskets, which are donated by local businesses in Clarks Summit and surrounding areas.

Proceeds from the bunny breakfast and raffles will benefit the club as well as NEPA Youth Shelters and Keystone Missions Code Blue.

“We hope that by running this event, we can put a smile on people’s faces while also making a meaningful contribution to those who support the community,” said Carly.
