Memphis Redbirds third baseman Cory Spangenberg had hits in three straight games May 26, 28 and 29 against Iowa to boost his average above .200 to .207.

The 31-year-old from Clarks Summit is playing with the top farm team of the St. Louis Cardinals this season in the International League.

Spangenberg went 3-for-10 in the Iowa series with a home run and three walks.

Memphis was 27-21 through Monday for third place in the IL West Division.

Spangenberg was hitting .207 in 31 games with four doubles, a triple and four homers. He had 24 runs scored, 19 RBI, 10 walks and was 6-for-7 stealing bases.
