“Scorched Grace” was named a New York Times Editors’ Choice, a Best Book of 2023 by Barnes & Noble, Apple Books and BookPage, and it has been optioned for a screen adaptation. Margot was named the Best Author of 2023 by Boston Magazine. In the fall, Margot will join Emerson College as an assistant Pprofessor in Popular Fiction Writing & Literature.

“I am deeply honored to be selected as this year’s recipient of the esteemed Belin Arts Scholarship, which will provide crucial support for my project, ‘Night Swim: A Virtual Reality Poetry Project,’” Douaihy said. “This recognition not only highlights my lifelong commitment to the craft of creative writing but also underscores the vital role that the arts play in our community. Through the mesmerizing power of virtual reality, ‘Night Swim’ will transport audiences to a world where poetry becomes three-dimensional and interactive. The Belin Arts Foundation’s dedication to innovation and artistic expression is truly inspiring, and I am incredibly grateful to further develop my practice with their support.”

The F. Lammot Belin Arts Foundation Scholarship was founded in 1964 by Captain Peter Belin, in memory of his father, to provide financial assistance to artists of outstanding aptitude and promise in the fine arts.
