Summer will soon be here, and with it comes the promise of warm weather and sunshine.

The Dalton Community Library’s display for June is National Outdoors Month. Explore our beautiful nation’s abundant wildlife refuges, parks and natural beauty. No matter your preferred mode of enjoying the great outdoors — camping, hiking, swimming, fishing, biking or kayaking, to name a few — nature is calling.

The Lackawanna County Library System’s Summer Reading Challenge, “Color Our World,” begins on June 30 and runs until Aug. 8. There are reading and activity competitions that all ages may participate in to win prizes. Before you know it, the Summer Reading Challenge will be here! Please watch for more info on Summer programming by watching the LCLS or Dalton Facebook pages or you may also call our library 570-563-2014 if you have any additional questions.

Saturday Spotlight is on hiatus for the Summer months and will start up again in September. If you would like to get a jump on our September reading selection, please call the library for details.

Our Tuesday Bridge group will meet throughout the summer from 10 a.m. to noon. Stop by one of these Tuesdays and try taking up a new hobby. New players are always welcome.

Please keep us in mind this summer if you are house-cleaning or downsizing and have books to donate, as our Fall Book and Bake Sale will be held the third week in October.

As June’s long summer days bloom, may we embrace the warmth and opportunities it offers to create lasting memories.
