Abington Heights graduates Evan Maxwell and J.C. Show are continuing their professional basketball pursuits with new teams this winter.

Maxwell is playing with BC Zaporizhya of the Ukranian Super League.

Show is with the Salt Lake City Stars of the National Basketball Association’s G League.

Maxwell played in Slovakia as a rookie, then helped the Newcastle Eagles win the British Basketball League Cup Championship last season, averaging 13.4 points and 6.8 rebounds per game.

With BC Zaporizhya, Maxwell is averaging 9.5 points and 6.3 rebounds in 21.7 minutes per game as the starting center after scoring 16 points and grabbing eight rebounds in an 87-86 victory over K. Sokoly in the most recent game Nov. 19. He has a pair of double-doubles.

Maxwell is shooting 37.8 percent on 3-pointers, including 6-for-11 in the last three games. The Indiana Wesleyan graduate is hitting 57.4 percent of his 2-point attempts and 67.6 percent of his free throws.

BC Zaporizhya is 7-8 overall after starting out 0-4. The team is seventh out of 12 teams in the standings.

Show, who made his professional debut in The Basketball League earlier this year, was drafted by the G League, the NBA’s developmental league, in October.

The guard from Binghamton University played in the first two games. After sitting out the last five games on coach’s decisions, Show is working with the team trying to land playing time and be ready for his next game opportunity.

Show played 26 minutes and scored 14 points in two road losses by a total of 88 points to begin the season. He was 5-for-10 from the floor, including 4-for-8 on 3-pointers, with three steals and two rebounds.

Salt Lake City is 1-6 with five- and three-point losses during its current four-game losing streak.
