As the holiday season sparkles on the horizon, December brings a unique chance to spread joy and connect with friends and family. Dalton Community Library would especially like to thank everyone who has spent time visiting our library this year and attending the children’s, young adult and adult programs. We are happy for all the patrons who utilize the various resources we have to offer.
We would also like to thank everyone who volunteers their time and energy to the library, especially help during the Spring and Fall Book and Bake Sales.
We will host Conductor Cody and his magical railway at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 9. Conductor Cody’s latest adventure is coming to the Lackawanna County Libraries! The destination is the North Pole and, in the style of classic holiday books like “The Polar Express,” there will be magic moments a plenty. Golden train tickets will be torn and restored, hot chocolate will magically appear, and we’ll even get to join in the reindeer games! Please join us at the library to make some magical holiday memories on the Holiday Express. This program is for all ages.
There will be a cooking show with the most delicious pizza and garlic knots from our business partner, Los Amigos Pizzeria, at 6 p.m. Dec. 20.
The Saturday Spotlight book discussion group will not be meeting in December. Our next meeting will be held from 10:30 a.m. to noon Jan. 25. We will be shining our light on “James” by Percival Everette.
Our Bridge Group meets religiously each week from 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesdays. Please come join our fun group which is always looking for additional members, whether novice or pro.
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and joyous New Year’s.
Safe travels to you!
